About Mary V. Carrigan, Attorney At Law

I am attorney Mary V. Carrigan, a family law attorney in Charlotte. For more than 30 years, I have dedicated my legal practice to helping people find solutions to difficult family problems during separation and divorce, such as division of marital property, alimony and child custody.

I graduated from Texas Christian University and obtained my master's degree in social work from Tulane University. After graduating from Tulane University, I worked as a social worker in mental health centers. Then I began teaching social work at a local university.

I decided to go to law school and graduated from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1983. Following graduation, I became a law clerk to United States Magistrate Barbara H. Delaney in the Western District of North Carolina.

After several years with a local law firm, I opened my own practice in 1996. I am a board-certified specialist in family law. Board certification is your assurance that I have substantial experience and competency in family law.
